ELIZABETH MALCOLM, MEd., LPC

Elizabeth received her undergraduate degree from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and her graduate degree, MEd in Counseling, from The University of Houston. She worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the decision to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a therapist; something she believes she was born to do.

Elizabeth Malcolm, MEd., LPC.

Elizabeth believes that every experience and encounter in life has a purpose. Nothing happens by chance. She believes our challenges and melancholy periods are not meant to break us, but to provide valuable lessons for us to learn, grow and become stronger, more confident, compassionate and fulfilled individuals. Many times, all we need is the right help, support and guidance.

Elizabeth is an excellent listener, calm, insightful and non-judgmental. Her caring approach and commitment to her clients, creates a space where people consistently feel heard, valued and validated. Her experience comes from working at clinics, specially assigned pilot projects, dual diagnosis units and hospitals. Elizabeth has also worked with clients of various cultures, religions and races. She provides the support and tools needed to foster growth and desired change, as she works collaboratively to develop a plan using coping skills, inner strength and changes in thought and behavior patterns. Through this process you gain insight and new perspectives.

As a result of Elizabeth's continuous, ongoing search for self-improvement, she is a voracious reader, exploring literature on topics such as the power of our minds, our words, positive thinking, faith, spirituality and mindfulness. In therapy, when appropriate, she incorporates elements of this research as she walks alongside her clients to help them lead more authentic, fulfilling lives.

Allow Elizabeth to help you on your journey, as you make the choice to LIVE FULLY, LIVE MINDFULLY and NOT simply EXIST.
