Do you feel like no one understands what you’re going through? Do you feel left alone to navigate your pain? Are you afraid to ask for help? Do you struggle to verbalize how you’re feeling?

When Roy Ayers’ said “Baby, baby, baby, look to the sky” in his 1976 album, Everybody Loves the Sunshine, he was encouraging listeners to seek out the mysteries of the world. Similarly, I invite my clients to explore the parts of themselves that people may not readily look at. This kind of inner searching is most closely associated with Humanistic therapy and is very important to me as a counselor. I would say that I have always found it to be foundational to life even as a child. It is no wonder then that I set my sights on becoming a counselor back in 6th grade as a 12-year-old and have charted my course to where I am now.

Through these pursuits, I, help my clients step into greatness as they grow in leadership. I am also an active volunteer in the mental health community and that includes working with victims of Hurricane Harvey with PTSD and other traumas, working with the Nia Cultural Center in Galveston, Texas on trust-building among leaders, and working with undergraduate students at Howard University in Washington on managing separation anxiety in the time of Covid-19.

I believe we all have stories we can’t quite explain, but these are threads we can tug at, as we inherit the wisdom of our deeper selves, uncover greater truths, and navigate our personal life journeys. I incorporate several clinical and spiritual techniques to help my clients heal - mind, body, and soul. These include humanistic or person-centered therapy, CBT, guided meditation, and card readings, among many others. Using these techniques, my clients feel grounded, empowered, and transformed emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I am unwavering in creating a space dedicated to openness, compassion, trust, understanding, and unconditional love. Through these modalities I’ll use in our work together, I implore you to step into the wholeness of who you are – a more empowered version of yourself.
